1. Keep one palm facing up.
2. With other hand, dangle a chain with locket.
3. Rub chain against the upturned palm, near the little finger, up down, thrice.
4. Separate them.
5. If the locket:
(a) swings from left to right, you will have a boy.
(b) goes in a circle, it's a girl.
(c) stands still, try for kid later.
33 virgins and budding soothsayers, boys and girls, discovered parenthood that day.
My best friend, nearly in tears after many blanks, finally stood up and said, in a hushed whisper, "I have a baby girl."
I have never seen a father more proud.
